Holy Trinity Dinting Cricket Club was founded in 1879,originally playing friendly cricket, before becoming Founder members of the Glossop and District League in 1893. We won the First Division title 13 times and the Rhodes Bowl Knockout Cup on 10 occasions. In addition the second team won the 2nd Divison title on 6 occasions, the Marsden Cup 5 times and in 1985 we won the North West Derbyshire Cup.
In 2000 the club moved into the Derbyshire and Cheshire League, along with the majority of the clubs from the Glossop and District League, and the First team now plays in the 1st Division, with the 2nd eleven playing in Division 3.
At junior level, the club participated at under 17 level since the Glossop League introduced junior cricket in 1949,winning the championship a record 11 times, and the Bob Davis Knockout Cup 5 times. At under 15 level, we have again participated since its introduction, and in 2002 won the Binns Trophy, which is the Derbyshire and Cheshire League title trophy. We have played under 13s cricket since 1977,and won the Glossop League trophy on 3 occasions, and in 1999, we introduced Under 11 cricket to complete the Junior section.
Over the years we have produced a string of excellent home grown talent, and this has always formed the basis of our senior teams. Of our current 1st and 2nd team squads, no fewer than 20 came through the junior teams, a great tribute to the junior coaches and managers we have had over the years. We have had several junior members who have represented Derbyshire and also the High Peak District squad over recent seasons.
1997 saw the creation of the Dinting Ladies team, the first in the Glossop area. They compete in the Derbyshire League, and again have had players who have received recognition at County level.
The facilities at the club have recently been improved with the aid of a Lottery Grant, with new changing facilities, a refurbished bar and function room, including disabled facilities, and two cricket nets. This facility was officially opened by Darren Gough in October 2001.
